It is written in the ‘blackfella constitution’ that we must respect our wise elders, good people like Megan Davis, Marcia Langton, Pat Dodson, Noel Pearson, Rachel Perkins et al.

People with a great track record on fighting for black justice.

Your personal opinion is not important here.

Listen to the elders, take their advice. This is the blackfella way.

The elders successfully steered this country through many calamities over countless millennia. The most stable and successful society ever recorded in all of human history! With these impeccable credentials, it would be madness not ask them for advice on how to steer this country through the troubled waters ahead.

If Captain Cook had consulted the elders way back when, we could have avoided 250 years of pain and suffering, degradation, humiliation, vilification, segregation, ostracization and misery!

But he did not!

Now is a golden opportunity to make amends.
