In WW2 the Nazis committed genocide against the Jews of Europe. The good people of the world did nothing. Most folks had no idea it was taking place, and could not intervene if they did. The good people of Europe knew about it, but could do nothing without jeopardizing their own lives. Whilst other not so good Europeans were either indifferent, or active supporters and participants in the operation, caught up in the mass hysteria and collective psychosis of the time.

After the defeat of Adolf Hitler, the true horrors of the holocaust came to light and shocked the world. Naturally we declared, ‘Never again.’ But it did happen again…and again…and again. In Cambodia, in Rwanda, in Sarajevo, in Burma.

…and now we have Gaza!

Every day, week after week, month after month, we watch atrocities committed.

Are we watching the world’s first live-streamed genocide on national television?

The 1948 genocide convention, enacted after the mass murder of Jews in the Nazi Holocaust, ironically enough, defines genocide as “acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnic, racial or religious group”

Here is list of atrocities committed by the Israeli regime in Gaza.

Do they amount to genocide? You be the judge.

  • The killing of over 25,000 people, 10,000 of whom were children. Plus 60,000 injured and 7,000 missing under the rubble. A total of almost 100,000 casualties…so far, which is about 4% of the population, or 1 in every 25 people, and there is no end in sight. The I.D.F. has lost none of their enthusiasm for wholesale slaughter.

On 13 October the Palestinian Ministry of Health noted 20 surnames had been permanently

erased  from Gaza’s civil registry, because every single person in that entire family had been killed.

  • The deliberate and systematic denial of food, water, medicine, electricity, heating and  communications to the entire population of Gaza….for over 3 months.
  • The relentless bombardment of hospitals that are crammed with, and surrounded by displaced people with nowhere else to go.
  • Cutting off all access to hospitals for ambulances  or anyone else. Bomb victims young and old, are left to bleed out on the street, in the arms of their loved ones.
  • The  deliberate and systematic targeting of doctors and medical staff. On 30 October, the Palestinian Ministry of Health stated 120 medical staff had already been killed in Gaza. On 22 December  a Palestinian doctor was killed in an airstrike after writing a note, “We did what we could. Remember us”
  • Every hospital in Gaza has been invaded and closed down by the I.D.F.  Doctors and medical staff are arrested and taken away for interrogation, many of them never seen again. (There maybe one single hospital still operating in Khan Yunis, on skeletal staff, under extreme duress, surrounded by Israeli snipers, picking off anyone that passes a window)
  • The deliberate and systematic targeting with 9000kg bombs, (the largest bombs ever made) of schools, hospitals, mosques, refugee camps and other areas clearly designated as safety zones that the I.D.F. know are crowded with displaced people because they told them to seek refuge there before bombing them.
  • The deliberate and systematic targeting of aid workers. Over 136 aid workers for the United Nations have been killed so far, more than in any other conflict in world history, including a UN worker who was killed on Christmas eve, along with 70 members of his family, all sheltering in his home. Also including a direct hit on UNRWA  headquarters on October 11 that killed nine of their workers. ( I guess that is a very Israeli way of saying, ‘we don’t like the way you vote.”)
  • The deliberate and systematic targeting of journalists, including death threats followed by assassinations of journalists and/or their entire families in their own homes. (The Israeli regime has a comprehensive list of every single person in Gaza and where they live.) Over 40 journalists have been killed so far. The highest number of any war this century, including Ukraine.
  • Totally destroying high rise buildings they know are full of people because their state-of-the-art Artifical ‘Intelligence’ has calculated that a suspected combatant might be inside, along with hundreds of innocent victims. Israel is a world leader in the development and use of Military Artificial Intelligence. Refining their craft every day on the defenceless people of Gaza. AI algorithms identify the targets, decide the ‘appropriate’ response, then send the lethal rockets. We are to believe that there is a human being overseeing proceedings, who can intervene at any time if they feel inclined. Presumably, they have not felt that inclination. In the first three weeks of the blitzkrieg, the Israeli regime dropped 6,000 nine hundred kilogram bombs per week. 200 times they dropped these enormous bombs directly onto areas in southern Gaza they had designated as safe havens.

  • The entire population has been forced, under pain of death, to abandon their homes, with little more than the shirt on their back…herded like sheep, kept constantly on the move, until 2.3 million people are now crammed together like sardines, in a tiny corner of Gaza, out in the open desert, exposed to the elements and the bombs that never stop falling like rain, slowly starving to death.

The methodical and systematic destruction of an entire Nation is underway. All civil infrastructure has been deliberately rendered dysfunctional. Over one third of all buildings have already been destroyed or damaged beyond repair…. and there is no end in sight. The Israeli regime have repeatedly stated their intention to level Gaza to the ground and make it unfit for human habitation, suggesting 2.5 million people ‘go somewhere else.’

It is hard not to see this as cruel collective punishment…or just plain old biblical revenge.

These actions make it appear that the intent is to thoroughly terrorize the entire population of Gaza and kill as many Palestinians as they can get away with, as well as making the entire Gaza strip unliveable. This is evidenced by multiple statements of intent uttered by members of the Israeli regime, such as, “we will turn Gaza into a desert island,” –Benjamin Netanyahu.

(Presumably, he plans to dig a moat around it, and maybe plant some palm trees.)

The I.D.F. claims to have killed at least 8,000 Hamas ‘combatants’. So, out of a total death count of 25,000, 18,000 of whom were women and children, that means the Israeli regime sincerely believes that every male over the age of 14 is a Hamas combatant, plus another 1,000 women and/or children.

Benjamin Netanyahu has said, “The IDF is the most moral army in the world.

The IDF does everything to avoid harming the uninvolved.”

But no less than Isaak Herzog himself, the President of Israel, also said,

“It is not true this rhetoric about civilians not being aware, not being involved. It’s absolutely not true.”

Clearly, in the eyes of the Israeli regime, every single man woman and child is ‘involved,’ and is therefore a ‘legitimate’ target.

At the ACJ in the Hague, when asked why the I.D.F. found it necessary to kill over 24,000 innocent people, the  defense team came up with the most pathetic excuses imaginable, laughable if they wasn’t so tragic, such as:

“civilians had been killed by Hamas booby-trapping homes, mining alleyways and misfiring rockets, and that the militant group’s use of schools and hospitals for military purposes had caused their structures to collapse.”

The Israeli regime cannot claim that all these atrocities did not take place, for we have all seen them with our own eyes, so they claim instead, that the wholesale destruction of Gaza and its inhabitants, is a by product of their attempt to destroy Hamas, ‘collateral damage’, as our American friends would say. So here are some choice words from various members of the Israeli government that give the distinct impression of intent to commit genocide:

Benjamin Netanyahu twice “invoked the Biblical story of the total destruction of Amalek”, declaring: “You must remember what Amalek has done to you, says our Holy Bible. And we do remember.”

That story leaves no doubt for interpretation: “Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.”

“I am puzzled by the constant concern the world is showing for the Palestinians, these horrible inhuman animals.”

– Don Gillerman, Israeli diplomat

“As long as Hamas doesn’t release the hostages, the only thing that should enter Gaza is not a gram of humanitarian aid, but hundreds of tons of explosives from the airforce.” – Ben Gavir, Israeli government minister

Israel Katz, minister of foreign affairs, “All the civilian population in Gaza is ordered to leave immediately. We will win. They will not receive a drop of water or a single battery until they leave the world.”

Major General Ghassan Alian, “Human animals are dealt with accordingly. Israel has imposed a total blockade on Gaza, no electricity, no water, just damage. You wanted hell, you will get hell.”

Giora Eiland, adviser to the defence minister, demanded other countries be prevented from offering assistance, demanding that Gaza’s people be left with “two choices: to stay and to starve, or to leave”. He advocated Gaza being made “a place that is temporarily or permanently impossible to live in”, declared women were not innocent because “they are all the mothers, sisters or wives of Hamas murderers”, and advocated “humanitarian disaster” and “severe epidemics” to achieve war aims: the finance minister Bezalel Smotrich  tweeted he agreed “with every word”.

10/1/24 In the Jerusalem Post on January 10, Nissim Vaturi doubled down on comments from late November, in which he said that “Gaza must be burned,”

Vaturi also referred to Israel’s action in the northern Gaza Strip, saying,

“We’ve evacuated everyone, we managed to do an orderly evacuation of 1,900,000, and 100,000 remained. I don’t think there are any innocent people there now…whoever stays there should be eliminated, period.”

…and the most rabid statement of all, from Merav Ben-Ari, female Israeli politician

“The children of Gaza have brought this upon themselves.”

If, after reading this, you think the Israeli regime is committing genocide, I would urge you to join BDS and boycott all Israeli products until they stop. In the interests of balance, you could also boycott all Hamas products as well, as they too have indulged in some despicable behaviour. I imagine they too, could be tempted to attempt genocide against the Israelis if the tables were somehow turned, and it was they that possessed all the very latest high tech weaponry and the imprimatur of the most powerful military machine the world has ever known, and it was the Israelis who were the defenceless victims, herded into a ‘concentration camp’ and used for target practice.
