We cannot defeat the terrorist state of Israel militarily while they enjoy the unconditional support of the most powerful and violent state he world has ever known. A state that also happens to have veto power in the United Nations. ( along with the other four top weapons manufacturers in the world) We must defeat the state of Israel with words alone. We must use our words wisely, fiercely and fearlessly. We must undermine the smug sense of righteousness Israel projects to the world, based entirely on their supposed connection to the biblical kingdom of Israel that flourished briefly some 2000 years ago.
After every genocidal atrocity in Gaza we hear the same statement repeated ad nuseum, ‘Israel has a right to defend itself.’
On the contrary, Israel does not have a right to defend itself. Israel is a rogue state operating with impunity outside international law and way beyond the limits we have set ourselves as members of human race. Now we must convince the entire world of that fact. Maybe then Israeli will be less arrogant.
Israel’s only claim to legitimacy is that it’s occupation of Palestine is based on every single member of the Jewish religion throughout the world having a connection to the kingdom of Israel by virtue of their faith alone. This fallacy is in turn based on the notion that all Jews are genetically related to the Palestinian Jews of biblical times, when Judea was part of Palestine. Israelis have convinced themselves, for purely political purposes, that their matrilineal lineage guarantees their connection to those halcyon days so long ago, no matter how infinitesimal it may be. But there is ample proof that over the last 2 millenia, many, many people have been accepted into the Jewish faith despite lacking any genetic connection.
When the UN voted in 1948 to give all the Jews in the world the right to occupy a small part of Palestine, against the wishes of the non-Jewish Palestinians, that right was based wholly on the assumption that every Jew in the world had an unbroken genetic connection to the Jews who lived in Palestine in biblical times. A right they acted upon and abused immediately, within hours of its declaration, beginning an expansionist war of conquest, involving ferocious acts of terrorism. (This is well documented and undeniable)
However, in the intervening years since that odd and fateful day, advances in biology have discovered that very few people of Jewish faith have any genetic connection to biblical Israel what-so-ever* So it looks like some folks have been telling fibs. But our genes do not lie! The assertion that all Jewish people in the world are genetically related to the original Jewish tribe of Israel is a myth. A myth of tragic proportions. A myth that has lead to genocide. Just as the myths spread about the Jews, such as ‘blood libel’ lead to the genocide perpetrated against them. Telling lies can lead to unforeseen, and very ugly consequences.
Ah, the irony—using words to condemn an entire nation while conveniently ignoring historical facts, legal precedents, and basic logic. Your attempt to delegitimize Israel isn’t just historically inaccurate; it’s dripping with selective outrage and revisionist storytelling.
First, the idea that Israel’s legitimacy is based solely on a biblical claim is laughable. The Jewish connection to the land isn’t just religious—it’s historical, archaeological, and backed by millennia of continuous presence, exile, and return. The UN didn’t just hand Jews a state out of pity; they voted for partition because Jews had already built a functioning society there and because the region had Jewish self-governance long before modern Palestinian nationalism even existed.
Second, let’s talk about your so-called “genetic myth.” Genetic studies, including those by Jewish and non-Jewish researchers, confirm significant ancestral links between modern Jews and ancient Israelites. But even if every Jew on Earth had converted centuries ago, would that somehow make them less deserving of self-determination? Funny how that argument never applies to anyone else.
Finally, your dismissal of Israel’s right to self-defense is absurd. A country surrounded by groups openly calling for its destruction has every right—and duty—to protect its citizens.
Your claim that Israel is the only aggressor conveniently ignores decades of attacks, suicide bombings, rocket fire, and terrorism. And yet, when Israel fights back, suddenly they’re the villains?Your post isn’t about justice; it’s about demonizing one side while whitewashing the other. It’s not a call for peace—it’s propaganda, wrapped in pseudo-intellectualism and dripping with hypocrisy.
Re: Jewish right of return – Binsblog
Thanks Roy, for taking the time to respond. I am not an academic or historian. I get most of my information from Wikepedia. I gleaned the data on Jewish ancestry fro the US National Library of Medicine, a reputable source run by your principal benefactor.
I don’t have an axe to grind, but I have been forced to watch the tragedy of Palestine unfold on my TV screen and can bare it no longer.
I have jotted down a quick response to your response.
You say – “But even if every Jew on Earth had converted centuries ago, would that somehow make them less deserving of self-determination?”
Of course the Jews have a right to self determination. The Jews living in Palestine in 1948 had every right to form their own political entity, and seek autonomy in the area where they lived,. But they had no right expel the non-jewish people living there as well. They had no right to expand that area, and they had no right to invite foreigners to come and join them who were not descendants of Biblical Israel.
I argue that Israel does not have the right to defend itself because I do not think they have the right to establish a state on someone else’s ancestral lands.
Of course some Jews have the right to live in Palestine, but it is irrefutable that the present mindset through out Israel is that no one else living within their self proclaimed Greater Israel has a right be there as well
– “Your claim that Israel is the only aggressor conveniently ignores decades of attacks, suicide bombings, rocket fire, and terrorism. And yet, when Israel fights back, suddenly they’re the villains?”
No one is claiming that Israel is suddenly the villains. They have always been the villians. Israel was established via terrorism against the English. No serious historian doubts that. The terrorism has continued from both sides ever since. I would argue that is because Israel has never ceased its campaign of territorial conquest.(settlements)
Imagine what an amazing place the Israelis could have fostered if they channeled all that money and research into goodwill towards their Paestinian neighbours.
But they chose constant war instead. So be it. They have created 2 warrior nations. Well done!
– “demonizing one side while whitewashing the other”
Yes, I have been demonizing one side, but I have not been whitewashing the other. I did not even mention the other. For the record, I do not believe there is a military solution for either side, unless Israel succeeds in its ambition to extirpate the Palestinians from ‘Greater Israel.’ Iran and it’s proxies are a hindrance to Palestinian emancipation and justice. No one can defeat Israel militarily while they have the unconditional support of the US, and are prepared to kill every last Palestinian in their fanatical desire to eradicate every last member of the resistance.( giving them a gap of a few years before the resistance rebuilds, more fanatical than ever)
I have enormous respect for Jewish culture. I am amazed at the sheer longevity of your culture. It seems to be due largely to your ability to get along with and blend in with whatever culture you find yourselves enmeshed with, (ironically enough, given the present hostilities) I am guessing that this in turn due to your penchant for intellectual curiosity, a trait lacking in most of the human race. But I tend to agree with Phillip Roth when said that the Jews are much better off as a diaspora. Don’t put all your eggs in one basket, you might say, and certainly don’t hurl them at your neighbours.
Israel was a Zionist idea, given the imprimatur of the fledgling United Nations, controlled at the time by the winners of the second world war, who felt a pang of guilt for turning the Jews away from their own countries. Since that very moment Israel has flouted more UN resolutions than any other country on earth. They have forfeited their right to be a member of the league of nations. Israel has turned out to be a terrible mistake. It is not too late to rectify that mistake.
Cheers Ben
