Good Christians have drawn a red line around December 25th as a special day to celebrate the birth of ‘Little Bubby Jesus.’ A day to forget about the manifold problems of the world, just like we have on every other day of the year.

But Mother Nature is not having a bar of it. She is obviously out to punish the wicked human race(especially the Australian Eastern Sea Board, where all the bushfires are) for their laziness in dealing with all those problems that are ruining her beautiful planet.

“How dare you!” –she says.

Christianity is in decline. It has been since the 17th Century.

Some pundits attribute this to The Enlightenment, an 18th Century cult  whose followers dumped Superstition in favor of Reason, religion was ‘collateral damage.’ Enthusiasm for the cult has obviously waned over the years, but at it’s peak around 1750, it knocked God off his perch for a while. But the true enemy of God is actually The Weather Bureau. Before they turned up with their fancy predictions, folks were under the delusion that bad weather was punishment by The Almighty for whatever sins they could recall performing. This was known as The Fear of God, it worked a treat. Nowadays we tend to love God, but it was not always thus. We used to fear him something terrible. Just take a squizz at the ceiling of The Firenze Cathedral next time you are passing by. It is covered with the most gruesome images of The Devil himself, merrily decapitating and dismembering folks for such acts as whistling on a Sunday, scenes that would make any self-respecting Sadist weep with envy. Then along comes the B.O.M. with their ‘so called’ scientific measurements and statistics, and who can resist a juicy statistic?

It was a liberation. Your humble peasant realized they could fornicate with whom ever or whatever they liked, and their crops wouldn’t fail as a direct consequence –The Age of Reason was born of such couplings.

I am a fearless reporter who has recently been sacked from News of the World due to wishy washy. namby pamby, bleeding heart, bed weting liberals banging on about Ethics, whatever they are. I try to offend as many people as possible but in the words of some great orator, "you can offend some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time, but youcant offend all of the people all of the time".
