We have all heard the apologists saying,

“all that horrible bloodshed was long, long ago.

My generation has no blood on its hands, we are as pure as the driven snow.

Nowadays we try to help those poor, pathetic blackfellas.”

Well actually, nothing has changed in all these years, blackfellas have been kept to such a minuscule number that they would not find it strategically sound to engage in outright warefare. But l am quite convinced that if they had any chance of winning, things would be different. The blackfella’s determination to fight for justice and equity has never diminished. It is ongoing and growing every day, because the root cause of their anger, the theft of their land, is also ongoing and growing every day.

Demand for land and resources is increasing exponentially, and supply is dwindling. This makes the land grabbers ever more desperate to swindle the original owners out of their birth-rite. To do this they are prepared to use every trick in the book, and don’t forget who wrote the book!

The book in question is The Australian Constitution, of course not that other old book. In ‘the book’ it clearly states that Private Property is inviolable. It is the very keystone of our law and our way of life. Those property rights were the very first rights established by the Military Dictatorship of Australia, just after they stole all the land in the entire continent from its original owners, and gave it a hand full of newcomers, fresh off the boat.

All of it, mind you. The biggest island in the world, and they took the bloody lot. Greedy bastards!

But there is a catch, there is always a catch, isn’t there?

There is one right that gazumps even the holy  right to private property, that of course is mining rights.

As Nelson Rockafella, original head of The Rockafella Foundation liked to say,

“The meek may inherit the world, but not it’s mineral rights.”

No one in this country, not the Prime Minister, not the Chief Justice of the highest  court in the land, can stop the miners taking your land if they have the slightest inkling there are valuable minerals underneath the surface, like coal for instance. They will dig up the whole fucking lot with feverish abandon, like a dog digging for a bone. And whose land do they invariably take? The blackfellas land of course. And when we say ‘take’ we literally mean ‘take away to another country altogether’, truck by truck, train load by trainload, until it is all gone…forever!

Ask yourself how you would feel if you were forced to watch your mother country being carved up and shipped off, until there was nothing left but a hole in your heart. An open gash that will never heal, a weaping wound that will continue to fester for generation upon generation, long after all the coal is burnt and all the money spent.

So don’t you dare say, “I am blameless, it it is all in the past.”

But we now live in a democracy don’t we? Don’t we?

Yes, this nation did begin it’s short and ugly journey as a Military Dictatorship, complete with slaves. But somehow, by some fluke, that brutal dictatorship evolved into the shinning beakon of democracy we enjoy today. Now surely, the time has come to look ourselves in our collective eyeballs, and ask, is Australia really a democracy?

When whitefellas arrived here on these fair shores, they were vastly out numbered by the local inhabitants. So they pretended to be nice, as you would….until the cavalry arrived. Then they systematically shot their former friends. Now why on earth would they go and do a nasty thing like that? Land! We wanted land, lots and lots of land, and those pesky blackfellas would not give us more than a morsel. So we had to kill them, didn’t we? Everyone pitched in, it was a bonding experience.

(well almost everyone. Those squeamish ‘enlightenment’ types wouldn’t have a bar of it)

In return for our complicity in this this wanton genocide we were given the recently vacated land, ‘vacant possession’ l think we call it nowadays. Quid pro quo.

Once the locals had been decimated they were no longer a threat.

Actually decimated is the wrong word. The Maoris were decimated, and they lived on to become a force to be reckoned with, on the rugby field at least.

‘Our’ blackfellas were actually ‘centimated.’ And we have kept them centimated ever since, via various unsavory methods: Rounding them up into ‘concentration camps’, taking away their children, selling them grog to numb the pain, then sitting back and watching them kill themselves. etc, etc.

Nothing to be proud of.

Only then could we proceed with the gentrification of our abomination. Naturally we began by allowing the owners of private property, and very large properties they were, to have a say in our antipodean military dictatorship. Of course we first we made it illegal for blackfellas to own land.

Ironic huh?

Eventually, as modernity seeped into our bucolic little fiefdom, we were forced to create annoying things like parliaments and constitutions. Only then could we call ourselves a democracy. But hey, let’s not forget that a democracy based on killing almost your entire opposition before a single vote is taken, is not a democracy at all. To make voting rights dependent on owning private property that has been stolen, whilst barring the original owners from buying back their stolen property, is not democracy either.

In fact, I think it would be fair to say that every law that has ever been passed in this Abomi-Nation, every single law is completely invalid, simply because we killed almost the entire opposition before we started.

That is not Democracy, that’s Genocide!
