Blockade Australia has just completed a successful operation to close down the largest coal port in the world, Newcastle. 16 people were arrested for locking onto machinery and blocking trains. No coal was loaded for 2 weeks. Barnaby was ropable. He went as red as a beetroot!

Love-of-my-life – Jacinta, was arrested and put in goal. You will be pleased to know she has been released under strict conditions. She got a $1600 fine for being a bloody nuisance. She had to promise to never do it again, but she wouldn’t, so if she does anything naughty in that state within the next year, they take off the kid gloves and stop treating her like a grey haired old lady.
Jacinta was locked on to a big machine that is used for transferring coal to the ships. It is called a stacker-reclaimer. She was there for about 4 hours. The entire enterprise had to close down. Apparently they lost hundreds of thousands of dollars that they were going to give to the poor.
The cops had to cut the lock-on device off her arms. They do this with an angle grinder. There are lots of sparks so they put a sack over her head and her body except for the arms. It is dark and noisy. The grinder heated up the metal so she complained. I think she said; “ouch. That hurts.’ So they got water and poured it all over the metal. They have a duty of care that they seem to take seriously, especially when there is national coverage of these actions. They treat blackfellas a whole lot differently when no one is watching. Then they arrested her and locked her up in the cells for 12 hours. They tortured her, but only a bit. They starved her for 4 hours then gave her a cold Macdonald’s hamburger. I think we can all agree that should be classed as torture under UN guide lines. Another non-violent protester was sentenced to a year in goal. Others were charged with ‘endangering their own life’ a charge that carries a possible 25 year sentence. if we are going to lock people up for ‘endangering their own life’ we will have to lock up half the bloody country!
Blockade Australia have simple goal – Stop Australia!
A call that has resonated around the globe in the wake of our nation’s cop-out at Cop21. As Mr. Gorton said, “We will only tolerate dissent if it is ineffective.” Now there was an honest politician.
