The I.D.F. has bombed over 60,000 targets, with over 100,000 tons of explosives. (more than the entire amount dropped on Europe in the second world war. Equivalent to 8 atomic bombs, on an area 40kms x 10kms, that is the most densely populated area on earth) Every rule of war has been flouted, all infrastructure has been systematically destroyed, including sanitation, fuel, water, electricity. Medicines and food have been cut off. They are in operating hand-in-glove with the most lethal war machine the world has ever known, they have the most sophisticated intelligent network on earth. All this, yet somehow they cannot defeat a ragtag bunch of desperados with AK47s. Come on, surely there is something more at play here. Either the I.D.F. is the most incompetent army in modern history, or they don’t actually want to defeat Hamas.
Have you noticed that whenever Hamas are willing to sign a ceasefire deal, the Zionists up the ante. If Hamas surrender then the I.D.F. will have to stop indiscriminately bombing the population. Maybe Hamas is not the target after all, maybe everyone is the target.
It is like the ancient game of ‘Go,’ where one player has a bunch of white pebbles, the other has black pebbles. As they take it in turns to place their pebbles on the board, the idea is to surround the opponents pebbles with yours, a simple task at first, then it gets interesting. As you are happily building an impenetrable wall around your opponent’s pebbles, they are building a larger wall around your wall, so you must either find a breach in that wall or build an even larger wall around their wall around your wall. There are 360 squares on the board and players have 180 pebbles each, so you can imagine how complicated things get. So how does the game of Go relate to Gaza, you might ask.
In October 2023 Hamas launched their murderous attack on the unsuspecting citizens of Israel. It seems the idea was to goad the Zionists into an invasion of Gaza, where Hamas could have a crack at them in hand-to-hand urban combat. It soon became obvious that the I.D.F. would do no such thing. Their strategy was to sit back and bomb the shit out of Gaza from the air until there was no ‘urban,’ just piles of rubble, before they set foot in the place. At this point the honourable thing for Hamas to have done, was to admit they were outfoxed and negotiate a hasty surrender, thus saving further bloodshed, and the wanton destruction of their beloved homeland. But being a bunch psychopaths, Hamas chose to hunker down in their tunnels and watch the carnage unfold. The I.D.F. is obviously quite content to leave them there unmolested, while they go about their grim duty of cleansing Gaza of all living things. So it looks like the way things are going, the Zionists may well achieving their goal of annexing a Gaza free of Gazans. But if we take a step back and look at the board from above, we see that Hamas may outfox the Zionists. Hamas may be playing a very cruel and ruthless game right to the bitter end. They seem to be quite prepared to sit back and watch Gaza be completely obliterated, to watch their brothers and sisters and families be murdered and maimed and starved to death, while they patiently wait for the world turn against their enemy, the Zionists. This means watching the Zionists erode every skerrick of the enormous sympathy they garnered from the holocaust, and replacing it with seething rage.
If that is indeed the objective of Hamas, you would have to say it has been a phenomenal success. Whether it is enough to bring down the whole rotten genocidal state of Israel and usher in a new Palestine, is really up to us, the vast majority of the world’s people who want an end to the carnage. Are we willing to do what it takes to reign in the perpetrators, Trump and Netanyahu? The people of Sydney have filled the Harbour bridge with their bodies and their umbrellas, to tell the world emphatically, enough is enough! Now it is up to everyone else to join in the chorus, until it is a deafening roar that cannot be ignored.
