Dadirri for First Nations peoples is about stillness and deep listening.
Dja Dja Wurrung elders together with local allies, would like to create an opportunity for the local community to pay respect to Auntie Tanya Day, who died after being held in police custody in Castlemaine in December 2017.
The whole community is invited to each lay a small stone in the garden bed on Hargraves Street, at Castlemaine Police Station
– untill 22nd of December.
The stones will be used to create a Dadirri Spiral to honour Auntie Tanya Day’s life,
and acknowledge that her death occurred in police custody in our community,
on Dja Dja Wurrung country.
